Last week, we drove out to Harford Vineyard & Winery for a wine tasting. It was fun to hear their story and see all the hard work that goes into running a winery! I enjoyed tasting all 10 of the wines, but, predictably, my favorites were the dry reds. In fact, I came home with bottles of 2 out of the 3 reds we tasted. The star was the Cabernet Franc, light and spicy, and made from a locally grown grape. I also came home with a bottle of the super smooth Crimson Moon, a silver medal winner blending Carmenere, Syrah, and Malbec grapes.
Now I feel inspired to visit all of Maryland’s wineries. Any recommendations?

Visit Black Ankle in Mt. Airy. They have 2 delicious blends that are incredibly pleasing (cab sav, syrah and cab franc)! Plus, the vineyard is gorgeous.
